Ashley McGowan (she/they) first joined our team as the Chair of Peer Support and now is our current Program Operations Supervisor, overseeing the Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Training Program (PSS) and the Ubuntu Rising Scholars Academy (URSA). They work closely with academic specialists, re-entry coordinator, academic counselors, and local officials to ensure our community receives the best Peer Support education. They also launched the first Peer Support program in Valley State Prison, working with other local prisons to provide our Peer Support program for those who are incarcerated.
Ashley received their B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and a minor in Feminist Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She previously worked for TTC’s We Exist program which was dedicated to getting LGBTQIA2-S+ youth connected with essential resources in LA county. In addition to her role at the college, she also participates in Tarzana’s Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity Committee to support efforts in creating an affirming environment for both patients, and employees at TTC.
