What is Tuition Incentive Program?
The Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) provides individuals with the opportunity to become certified-eligible Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselors while gaining practical, in-field experience. Through this program, all tuition costs at TTCC are fully covered for participants.
How can I qualify for TIP?
To qualify for TIP, applicants must be at least 18 years of age, reside in Los Angeles County, and hold a high school diploma or GED with proof of completion.
Applicants must also provide:
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
- Present a valid government-issued ID
- Not be registered with any accrediting body such as CCAPP or CADTP.
Applicants who are currently registered counselors may still qualify if they are
- In good standing with their accrediting body
- Are hired with a SAPC provider agency as a registered counselor on or after April 1, 2023
- Are not currently included in the SAPC Capacity Building (1-D) Efforts.
How long is the program?
The SUD Counseling Certificate Program offered through TIP is a seven-month accelerated program that includes 255 hours of supervised, in-person internship.
What courses are included in the program?
The courses included in TIP are the same as those offered in the SUD Counseling Certificate Program. You may use the following link to learn more: https://www.ttccollege.org/campus/sudprogram/tiprogram/
If I drop, will I still be eligible for the scholarship upon reapplying?
No. Students who withdraw from the program are not eligible for tuition reimbursement. Students who withdraw or academically disenrolled risk losing their scholarship.
How much does it cost to register with an SUD Accreditor?
All registration fees with SUD accrediting bodies are fully covered by the TIP scholarship.
I am already registered with an SUD Accreditor, do I need to re-register?
No. Students who are already registered with an accrediting body do not need to re-register.
Background & Eligibility Notice
Tarzana Treatment Centers College welcomes all applicants, including those who are justice-impacted. A past conviction does not automatically disqualify you from admission to our certification programs.
However, please note the following important considerations:
- Some practicum sites and employers may require background checks.
- Placement agencies may have restrictions based on criminal history.
- Completion of practicum is a required component for program completion and certification.
We strongly encourage applicants with prior convictions to speak with our Admissions & Records team early in the application process. Our staff can help explore placement options and identify supportive resources to facilitate successful placement and program completion. You may email them at enrollment@tarzanatc.org.
