Dr. Michael d’ Agostin has been working at Tarzana Treatment Centers Inc., in supervisory roles, for the past 22 years, and he is a licensed Clinical Psychologists and certified substance abuse and addiction counselor working in the field of treating substance use and mental health disorders for 35 years. On October 2, 2010, he was awarded the George C. Cobbs Service Award from the California Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors. In addition, he taught addiction education classes at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena and maintains a private practice in Valley Village. His passion is to reduce the stigma of substance use and mental illness and helping others. He attended Los Angeles University graduating with both a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in counseling and finished the Doctor of Psychology degree at Cal Southern University. In 1968, he received an honorable discharge from the US Army and awarded a letter of commendation in 1965 for exemplary duties performed while serving in Viet Nam. Preferred hobbies reading, learning, being of service and the martial arts.
